Abstract:This article aims to study the impact of different material shells on the wireless signals emitted by internal wireless modules in smart home design.Tests were conducted in an Over-The-Air(OTA)darkroom to investigate the influence of various material properties(material type, thickness, distance)and different occlusion scenarios(one-side occlusion,opposite-side occlusion, omnidirectional occlusion)on wireless signal transmission in the 2.4GHz frequency band.Through the analysis of a large amount of data, the patterns of signal changes were summarized and categorized. The research results indicate that external occlusion can cause the signal pattern to shift towards the occlusion direction, while attenuation and loss occur in the occlusion direction. After the pattern changes,it will oscillate and propagate along the surface of the pattern.
