Research on Park Trail Lighting Design Based on Restorative Environment Theory

Abstract：This paper explored the lighting design strategies based on the theory of restorative environment,taking the lighting design of Hong'en Temple Forest Park in Chongqing as an example.The design aim was to create a relaxing and relieving light environment at nighttime.By inquiring the needs of park visitors at night,three preferences for lighting environment were summarized—appropriate contrast,rich colors,and creative lighting design.Finally,through the research-led design of the mountain park trails,four lighting design principles corresponding to the restorative environment were proposed:"lighting aesthetics principle","natural harmony principle","diversified support principle",and"spatial guidance principle".These principles aim to better the restorative effects of the park environment at nighttime.
