Abstract:The transformer is the core component of a switching power supply, and its working state affects the reliability of the switching power supply.Whether the maximum magnetic induction intensity of the transformer is less than the saturation magnetic induction intensity of the magnetic core is a key indicator for evaluating the reliability of the switching power supply. This article derives the magnetic circuit formula related to the transformer of a half bridge resonant switching power supply, and concludes that the waveform and magnitude of the voltage at both ends of the transformer winding can be tested by an oscilloscope. Then, using the integration function of the oscilloscope itself, the voltage second product of the transformer can be obtained. The voltage second product is equivalent to the working magnetic flux chain of the transformer. The quotient obtained by dividing the maximum change of this working magnetic flux chain by the number of turns of the coil is divided by the effective cross-sectional area of the magnetic core, and finally multiplied by 0.5 to obtain the maximum magnetic induction intensity of the transformer. This method is convenient, efficient, and reliable, suitable for the reliability evaluation of switch mode power supplies.
