Abstract:In public art museums, the rational arrangement of exhibition area lighting is crucial for both exhibition effects and the protection of exhibits. This case study focuses on Exhibition Hall No.1 at Jiangsu Art Museum and proposes a new method for evaluating the lighting quality of the exhibition area. The method involves using confidence intervals to estimate the range of lighting parameters.Through field investigations on the lighting used for exhibits, key lighting parameters such as illuminance, uniformity, color rendering index, and the brightness ratio between exhibits and their background were selected for sampling measurements and data collection. The confidence intervals of the measured data were calculated and compared with relevant standards for correction, thereby improving the lighting quality of the exhibition area.
