Basic Principles and Design Essentials of IW1710 First-Order and Half Topology

Abstract：IW1710 is a high-performance AC/DC offline LED driver chip,which uses digital control,primary peak current detection and other technologies for PWM flyback LED power supply.This article mainly introduces the basic principles and design key points of the first-order and halftopology of the IW1710 control chip.Its control chip is used as PFC correction circuit and flyback circuit.Compared with streaming circuit,active PFC can design transformers more flexibly,bringing higher efficiency or less ripple;compared with two-stage circuit,only one MOSFET driving PFC and transformer switch brings lower cost advantages.In this industry,people named it'one-and-a-half structure'.
