Study on the UV Communication Light Source Based on the Low-Pressure Discharge Electrodeless Lamps
Abstract：Ultraviolet scatter communication systems require the scattering sources with the advantages of long life, high luminous efficacy and easy modulation. A UV electrodeless discharge lamp based on inductively coupled plasma （ICP） is designed. And the light-emitting principle of this lamp is introduced. The lamp＇ s spectral characteristics and repeat start-up performance are tested to analyze the feasibility of applying it as the UV light source of communication system. It is concluded that the practical application of electrodeless ultraviolet communication light source needs the further studies on the drive circuit and the coupling mode.
