A case of cutaneous phaeohyphomycosis caused by Exophiala jeanselmei

Abstract:The patient,a 53-year-old female,was a farmer with multiple dark red plaques,nodules,cysts and scars on the right arm for more than a year.There was no desquamation on the skin surface,no special symptoms such as itching and tingling.There were no obvious blisters,pustules,erosion,ulcers,fissures,impregnation and other special rashes.Based on the results of skin histopathology,fungal culture,etc.,the diagnosis was made of dermatophytosis caused by Exophiala jeanselmei,According to the results of antifungal sensitivity,itraconazole capsules and topical naltifen ketoconazole cream were administered.After 8 weeks of treatment,the affected area was significantly flattened and the broken area healed.
