Clinical Application Progress of Bronchoscopy in the Treatment of Pulmonary Fungal Infections
Abstract:Systemic medication shows limited efficacy for complications such as recurrent obstructive pneumonia and hemoptysis caused by invasive pulmonary fungal infections. The first-line treatment is surgical intervention on the basis of systemic drug therapy. For Aspergillus ball lesions, the intracavitary drug concentration is low, and surgical resection is the preferred treatment. However, some patient groups with multiple comorbidities and widespread lung lesions are not suitable for surgical resection, and systemic medication alone is also ineffective. With the advancement of equipment and the refinement of techniques, bronchoscopy-guided local treatment has gradually played an active role. This article reviews the literature published at home and abroad on bronchoscopy treatment (including bronchial local drug administration and interventional therapy) for pulmonary fungal infections, aiming to understand the current development status.
