Abstract:Objective Design of a dual-purpose dry-wet toe separator for patients with intertriginous tinea pedis and evalua-tion of its clinical efficacy. Methods Sixty patients with intertriginous tinea pedis in the dermatology department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Naval Military Medical University from January 2022 to March 2024 were selected as study subjects. The patients were divided into a control group and an experimental group(30 cases each)using a random number table meth-od.The experimental group used a dual-purpose dry-wet toe separator, while the control group used dry gauze for toe divi-sion.The differences in patient comfort, pain scores, and itching scores before and after intervention were compared;the de-gree of symptom improvement, patient and nurse satisfaction, and the total number of dressing changes after intervention were also compared between the two groups. Results The treatment before and after intervention showed better comfort, pain scores, itching scores, skin symptom improvement, patient satisfaction, and nurse usage satisfaction in the experimen-tal group compared to the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Additionally,the total number of dressing changes was less in the experimental group than in the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion The design of the dual-purpose dry-wet toe separator for patients with intertriginous tinea pedis is sci-entifically designed, easy to operate, improves patient comfort, improves skin symptoms, reduces pain and itching, and in-creases patient and nurse satisfaction, making it worthy of clinical promotion and application.
