Recent Advances in the Classification System of Dermatophytes and Clinical Important Complexes
Abstract：The new classification system of dermatophytes based on multi-gene sequences has been established for nearly ten years and has been widely recognized and applied globally. However, due to significant changes compared to the old system, the large number of fungal names, this system has not yet been popularized in China. The classification of important dermatophyte complexes has long been controversial. In recent years, the integration of various technical methods has gradually led the academic community to a clearer and more rational understanding of these complexes. This article reviews the most important literature on the classification of dermatophytes over the past decade, introducing the latest classification system of dermatophytes and the research progress on important clinical complexes.
