Research Progress on the Interaction between Bacteria and Candida albicans and Their Pathogenicity
Abstract:The microbiota carried by the host influences each other's growth and pathogenicity through synergistic or antagonistic relationships, and affects the health of the host. This article reviews the interactions between bacteria and Candida albicans within the host, including the effects of their metabolites on each other's growth and virulence, as well as their impact on oral mucosa, vaginal, and intestinal epithelial cells of the host. It is of great significance for controlling mixed infections caused by bacteria and Candida albicans.
