Research Status of the Role of Fungal Cell Wall Components in Therapy and Immune Response
Abstract:The cell wall is a key structure for fungal survival and morphological development, as well as a critical interface between fungi and the external environment. In the interaction between fungi and hosts, the cell wall can not only activate immune response ligands but also help fungi evade immune system attacks. Since the cell wall does not exist in mammals, it has become a key target for antifungal therapy and an important direction for the development of new antifungal treatments. This article provides an in-depth analysis of the key components of the fungal cell wall, explores their potential roles in new drug development and immune response mechanisms, aiming to provide key information for the development of antifungal drugs.
