Abstract:Objective To explore the antibacterial and antifungal activity of extracts from component of Chushi tinea oint-ment on common skin pathogens. Methods Broth dilution mehtod was used in this study.Test strains were Trichophyton rubrum,Trichosporon asahii,Candida parapsilosis,Candida tropicalis,Candida albicans,Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC),the minimum bactericidal concentration(MBC)and minimal fungicidal concentration(MFC)were investigated. Results The extracts from component of Chushi tinea oint-ment showed good antibacterial and antifungal activity. The extracts had obvious inhibitory effect on Staphylococcus,slight-ly on Candida and P.aeruginosa.the inhibitory concentration were less than 25 mg/mL,and the most obvious inhibitory effect at 24 h.The MBC and MFC of the extracts were less than 25 mg/mL.Conclusion The extracts from component of Chushi tinea ointment had good antibacterial and antifungal activity and potential for further development.
