Research Progress on the Pathogenesis of Sporotrichosis
Abstract:Sporotrichosis is widely distributed around the world, especially in tropical and subtropical regions. This disease is caused by the pathogenic dimorphic fungus Sporothrix. The infection sites are commonly found in the skin, subcutaneous tissue, and adjacent lymphatic vessels. The occurrence of the disease is mainly influenced by the virulence of Sporothrix, the immune status of the host, and their interaction. Among these, the virulence of Sporothrix is closely related to its cellular components, virulence factors, and dimorphic transformation mechanism. This article aims to review the research progress on the pathogenesis of Sporotrichosis by introducing the factors related to its pathogenic process.
