Abstract:Report a case of tinea incognito misdiagnosed as"eczema".The patient was a 44 years old male, who had recurrent rashes on the face and limbs accompanied by itching for more than one year, and aggravated for one week.Treatment with antihistamines, hormones, biologics, etc.could control symptons for a relatively short time.Combined with the many years history of tinea pedis, generalized rashes all over the body appeared after topically applying a certain ointment for half a month. Therefore,it is considered that allergic damage-tinea incognito occurred after applying irritating drugs when treating tinea pedis. For the skin lesions on the right face, right palm, and left dorsal foot,a large number of fungal spores were seen under immunofluorescence fungal microscopy. After a definite diagnosis of tinea incognito was made, antifungal drugs and antihistamine drugs were given for symptomatic treatment. For the primary lesion, topical antifungal ointment was applied.Irritating topical drugs were avoided.Later, moisturizing and hydrating were mainly used. After systematic treatment, the rash was cured.
