A case of primary cutaneous nocardiosis caused by Nocardiabrasiliensis and review of literature

Abstract:Acase of primary cutaneous nocardiosiscaused by N.brasiliensis was reported.The patient manifested with red nodules and ulcers onleft upper limbs.Debriding and topical use of antibiotic ointment did not show obvious effect in local hosptal.The pus sample was cultured and the growth of pathogen was identified as Nocardia brasiliensis via mass spectrom-etry analysis.After admission,the results of pus NGS were consistent with the mass spectrometry.So SMZ tablets were given and incision,drainage of abscess was performed.The lesions improved significantly,and SMZ continued to be taken af-ter discharge.He was followed up 3 and a half months,the skin lesions disappeared and no recurrence.
