Pulmonary cryptococcosis coexisting with lung adenocarcinoma:A case report and review of the literature

Abstract:Pulmonary cryptococcosis is a common opportunistic fungal infection caused by Cryptococcus neoformans or Cryptococcus gattii,which mainly invades on the respiratory system.However,clinical reports of coexistence of pulmonary Cryptococcus and lung cancer characterized by two solitary pulmonary nodules are relatively rare.This paper reports the clin-ical diagnosis and treatment of a case of pulmonary Cryptococcus complicated with pulmonary adenocarcinoma,including a 5-year follow-up,to provide reference for avoiding missed diagnosis in clinical practice.
