Analysis of the Development of Foreign Capital Healthcare Institution in China from the Perspective of Industry Ecology

Abstract：Foreign capital healthcare institutions entering China have gone through three stages of development:admission,joint venture,and sole proprietorship.The cross-border flow of total factor includes institutional providers,health-workers and patients.Foreign providers have revealed unique characteristics from domestic hospitals.Based on the perspective of industry ecology,it discusses the opportunity and challenge from individual,cluster and industry level,respectively.Foreign capital healthcare institutions take advantages in controlling patients' medical burden and operating costs with differentiated medical services,group operation,contract management with commercial medical insurance and platform service facilities.But it also faces the development challenges such as weak attractiveness for medical elites and limited market space.The overly active capital market makes ownership structure more complexity.Segregation of capital risk poses new challenges to government industry administration and regulation.
