Study of Avoidable Readmissions of Three Comprehensive Hospitals in Beijing Area
Abstract：Objective To obtain the basic information of avoidable readmissions (ARs),such as hospital visits,LOS,hospitalization costs and make relevant policy recommendations to governments and hospitals based on research.Method Based on the definition of unplanned readmission within 2 ～ 31 days after the first discharge,using the home page of hospitalization summary reports to determine the basic information of ARs in research hospitals.Result The ratio of ARs to total inpatients is different among 3 hospitals,however,all research hospitals have large ARs due to medical complications.Conclusion Identifying the causes of the ARs and taking corresponding measures to reduce it can not only save medical resources and reduce unnecessary medical expenses for inpatients,but also can be conducive to the harmony of the doctor-patient relationship.
