Study of Avoidable Admission of Three Comprehensive Hospitals in Beijing Area
Abstract:Objective To obtain the basic information of avoidable admissions (AAs),such as hospital visits,LOS and hospitalization costs,and make relevant policy recommendations to governments and hospitals based on the research.Method Based on relevant definitions of Ambulatory Care Sensitive Conditions (ACSCs) of OECD,using the hospitalization summary reports to statistically analyze ACSCs patients.Results There are 30 896 ACSCs inpatients discharged from research hospitals,accounting for 3.19% of the total inpatients.Statistical analysis shows that the average LOS of ACSCSs inpatients is longer than that of non-ACSCs inpatients in each hospital,otherwise,the average hospitalization costs of ACSCSs inpatients is lower than those of non-ACSCs inpatients Conclusion The government and hospital should attach importance to the concept of AAs,carry out related research,and investigate the reference significance for solving relevant problems in China.
