Impact and Mechanism of Workplace Ostracism on Emotional Exhaustion and Job Satisfaction of Nurses in the Public Hospital
Abstract:Objective To explore the impact and mechanism of workplace ostracism on emotional exhaustion and job satisfaction of nursing staffs.Methods The data was collected with a questionnaire by a cross-section survey method,using the multiple line hierarchical regression analysis method.Results The average score of workplace ostracism was (1.53±0.72) at a low level;52.2% of nurses had a tendency of emotional exhaustion;workplace ostracism had significantly predict on emotional exhaustion (β3=0.186,P<0.01) and job satisfaction (β=-0.252,P<0.01) of nurse,emotional exhaustion played a partly mediating role between them.Conclusion Workplace ostracism in nursing staffs is not common,but it should cause for the concern.Nurses' emotional exhaustion is more serious,moreover,workplace ostracism will be directly or indirectly affected by emotional exhaustion on job satisfaction.
