Study on the Cost Burden of Continuing Medical Education for Medical Workers in Hospitals in Hebei Province
Abstract:Objective To analyze the learning status and cost burden for medical workers in the participation in continuing medical education courses in 2A and 3A grade hospitals in Hebei Province.Methods Questionnaire survey method based on stratified sampling and descriptive research method was applied to 6 013 medical workers in 45 2A and 3A grade hospitals.Results The participation rate of learning course of 3A grade hospitals is higher than 2A grade hospitals.The participation rate is low for high benefits education courses,and is high for low benefits education courses.The participation rate is inversely proportional to the education benefits.There are 3 kinds of cost burden of education courses,which are cost burden from hospital,from individual and from both hospital and individual.The proportions of different kinds of cost burden are 22.23%,16.03% and 61.74% respectively for 2A grade hospitals,and are 19.50%,29.56% and 50.94% respectively for 3A grade hospitals.The cost burden of continuing medical education is mainly from hospital and from individual independently for 2A grade hospitals,and is shared by both the hospital and individual for 3A grade hospitals.Conclusion Inadequate investment and out of place of management systems implementation are the main reasons for 2A grade hospitals.The education cost burden from both hospital and individual is a more reasonable form.
