Evaluation of the Implementation and Effects of Clinical Pathways by Physicians in Public Hospitals
Abstract：Objective To evaluate the implementation and effects of Clinical Pathways by physicians in public hospitals of China.Methods Questionnaire survey of 1 638 physicians in public hospitals in 3 provinces (or municipality) located nthe eastern,central and western areas of China was conducted.Results The overall mean scores of the implementation and effects of Clinical Pathways evaluated by physicians in public hospitals were 3.16 and 3.41,respectively.In adition,there were differences in the evaluation among physicians in different regions and among physicians at different levels of hospital.Conclusion While physicians don't highly acknowledge the implementation of Clinical Pathways,and those physicians work in the western area or in secondary public hospitals are more in favor of implementing Clinical Pathways.Physicians have higher perception that the implementation of Clinical Pathways can improve medical process quality.
