Analysis of the Operating Efficiency of Country-Level Public Hospitals Under Reform in Guangdong Province
Abstract：Objective To assess the service system operating efficiency of country-level public hospitals of Guangdong Province.Methods Through the nonparametric DEA-Malmquist index approach,analyzing total factor productivity (TFP) change in country-level public hospitals of Guangdong Province with panel data.Results The average decrease rate of total factor productivity,technical progress,technical efficiency the first batch of country-level public hospitals were 1.6％,2.4％ and 0.8％ from 2012 to 2015.Pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency annual increase rate were 0.5％ and 0.2％.During the period,the annual TFP increased from 0.951 to 1.004.Conclusion There is still big room for the improvement of the operating efficiency of country-level public hospitals in Guangdong Province.In this sense,more attention should be paid to improve technical progress.
