Abstract:Adult diffuse glioma is the most common primary malignant tumor of the central nervous system, whose diagnosis and prognosis are closely related to the histological and genetic features of the tumor. The 2021 fifth edition of the World Health Organization Classification of Central Nervous System Tumors incorporates genetic characteristics as diagnostic criteria for gliomas.Noninvasively predicting the genetic information of gliomas through preoperative magnetic resonance imaging is important for early diagnosis, surgical planning, and prognostic evaluation. This review integrates the updated glioma classification guidelines, radiomics, deep learning, and other information technologies to elucidate the latest advances in imaging genetics of adult diffuse gliomas, while also explores the potential applications and challenges of glioma imaging genetics in future intelligent medical systems.
