Abstract:Objective To analyze the expression of hypoxia inducible factor 1α(HIF-1α) and cyclin D1 in bladder cancer tissues, and their clinicopathological significance. Methods A total of 72 patients with bladder cancer treated by surgery in Longyan First Hospital of Fujian Province were selected.Bladder cancer tissues were taken as the study group, and normal paracancerous tissues were taken as the control group.Immunohistochemical method was used to measure the levels of HIF-1α and cyclin D1.The factors related to positive expression of HIF-1α and cyclin D1 were analyzed. Results HIF-1α positive rate and cyclin D1 positive rate in the study group were significantly higher than those in the control group( P<0.05) .There were statistically significant differences in HIF-1α positive rate and cyclin D1 positive rate in terms of different clinical stages, lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis, and pathological grades( P<0.05) .HIF-1αpositive rates in patients with different tumor diameters were significantly different ( P<0.05 ) .Logistic regression analysis showed that clinical stage T3-T4,lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis and pathological grade G2-G3 were risk factors for positive expression of HIF-1αand cyclin D1( P<0.05) .Tumor diameter larger than 3 cm was also a risk factor for positive expression of HIF-1α(P<0.05).Conclusions HIF-1α and cyclin D1 are overexpressed in bladder cancer tissues. Both are closely related to clinical stage, pathological differentiation and metastasis.
