Abstract:Objective To explore the application skills of da Vinci robotic in thyroid surgery cancer patients of different genders, and to compare the differences in its applications effect between male and female patients with thyroid cancer. Methods The clinical data of 92 male patients with thyroid cancer and 58 female patients with thyroid cancer who received Da Vinci robotic thyroid surgery in Jinling Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing University from May 2022 to January 2024 were retrospectively analyzed.BMI,operation time, postoperative drainage volume, postoperative hospital stay and postoperative complications such as hypoparathyroidism and recurrent laryngeal nerve injury were compared between the two groups. Results All the surgeries were successfully completed except 1 patient who was transferred to open surgery due to intraoperative hemorrhage. The average operation time of male group[(196.98±31.36)min]was longer than that of female group[(174.12±23.83)min](P<0.05).The amount of postoperative drainage fluid in the male group[(167.64±42.07) mL]was higher than that in the female group[(153.74±37.27) mL](P>0.05).The median postoperative hospital stay between the two groups was the same, but the male group was shorter than that in the female group ( P<0.05) .In the male group, there were 4 cases of temporary recurrent laryngeal nerve injury ( 4.3%),1 case of permanent recurrent laryngeal nerve injury ( 1.1%),22 cases of temporary hypoparathyroidism ( 23.9%),2 cases of Horner syndrome ( 2.2%),and 1 case of chylorrhea ( 1.1%) .In the female group, there was 1 case of temporary recurrent laryngeal nerve injury ( 1.7%),18 cases of temporary hypoparathyroidism ( 31.6%),and 2 cases of skin burn ( 3.4%) .There were no significant differences in the incidence of postoperative ( P<0.05),and no permanent hypoparathyroidism in both groups. Conclusions Compared with the female group, the average operation time of the male group is longer, and the risk of recurrent laryngeal nerve and cervical sympathetic trunk injury is greater.
