Abstract:Imbalances and translocation of the gut microbiota, coupled with the accumulation of microbial metabolites, can induce chronic inflammation, hypoxia, immunosuppression, and metabolic disorders within the gut microenvironment, triggering a pro-tumor cascade.Microbes are implicated in 16%-20% of malignant tumors, with distinct microbial compositions observed across various cancers.Consequently, fecal microbiota transplantation ( FMT ),a technique for directly altering gut microbiota, has garnered significant attention in recent years.FMT,as the most direct method for altering the gut microbiota, can significantly enhance the efficacy of treatments, including radiotherapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and cancer-related complication management, while potentially preventing adverse clinical outcomes. These findings suggest that fecal microbiota transplantation represents a promising strategy in cancer treatment. However, data from large-sample randomized controlled trials remain limited. This review aims to systematically assess current research progress, providing a foundation for future clinical applications and broader implementation.
