Abstract:Objective To compare treatments of unilateral or bilateral inferior frontal approach in large ol-factory groove meningiomas. Methods The study was based on 72 patients with large olfactory groove meningio-ma treated in Ningxia People’s Hospital from November 2013 to November 2014. The patients were randomly di-vided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method. Patients in the control group were treated with bilateral inferior frontal approach, and the observation group was treated with unilateral inferior frontal approach. The degree of tumor resection was evaluated by Simpson grading in two groups, the incidence of complications and the effect of treatment were observed. Results Removal rates were 77. 8% and 72. 2% in the control group and the observation group tumor Simpson gradeⅠ, Simpson gradeⅡresection rate was 22. 2% and 27. 8% respectively, the difference between the two groups had no statistical sig-nificance(P >0. 05);observation group, the postoperative complication rate was 16. 7%,compared with the control group(38. 9%) and low (P<0. 05). Conclusion Single and bilateral inferior frontal approach in the treatment of large olfactory groove meningiomas can obtain the ideal total resection degree, the curative effect is similar, the treatment of the patients with unilateral inferior frontal approach is less, it is beneficial to promote the recovery of patients as early as possible.
