Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinico-pathological characteristics and prognostic factors of acinic cell carcinoma(AciCC). Methods Five cases diagnosed AciCC were investigated with clinical date, histology and immunohistochemistry. The literatures were reviewed. Results Among 5 cases,4 cases were females and 1 case was male. The lesions were involved in parotid 4 cases, and oral gingival 1 case. 4 patients showed slow-growing painless mass and one patient complained the tumor rapid grow in recent, occasional pain. Microscopi-cally,4 cases represented papillary cystic type and the neoplastic cells were moderate. Necrosis was present in one case of high-grade AciCC. The neoplastic cells were positive for CK but negative for P63 and SMA. The Ki-67 index was low( ﹤ 5% )in 4 cases, while it was high(30% )in the high-grade compoent. 4 cases were fol-lowed up for 13-78 months, and recurrence and metastasis were not found. The patient of high-grade AciCC died 10 months after operated. Conclusions AciCC often occurs predominantly in parotid of female. Most of AciCCs are low-grade. However, the patients of high-grade AciCC need further explore about comprehensive clinical treatment and closely followed up.
