Effect of estrogen combined with Zhuang acupuncture therapy in treatment of thin endometrium on frozen-thawed embryo transfer for assisted pregnancy

Abstract：Objective To observe the effect of estrogen combined with Zhuang acupuncture therapy in treatment of thin endometrium on frozen-thawed embryo transfer for assisted pregnancy.Methods A total of 137 patients with thin endometrium who received frozen-thawed embryo transfer for assisted pregnancy in Center for Reproductive Medicine and Genetics,the People's Hospital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region from March 2022 to June 2024 were recruited.The patients were divided into control group(receiving conventional estrogen treatment regimen for preparing the endometrium,69 patients)and observation group(receiving conventional estrogen treatment regimen plus Zhuang acupuncture therapy for preparing the endometrium,68 patients).During the treatment process,9 patients were excluded from the control group and 8 patients from the observation group.Eventually,60 patients were included in each group for the analysis.The endometrial thickness,the grade of endometrial blood flow,serum estradiol(E2)and progesterone(P)levels,and pregnancy outcomes were compared between the two groups.The occurrence of adverse reactions was recorded.Results After the treatment,the endometrium in the observation group was thicker than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).After the treatment,the endometrial blood flow grade in the observation group was significantly better than that in the control group(P＜0.05).There were no statistically significant differences in the levels of serum E2 and P between the two groups before and after the treatment(P＞0.05).The implantation rate and clinical pregnancy rate in the observation group were higher than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).No serious adverse reactions occurred in all the patients during the treatment period.Conclusion Estrogen combined with Zhuang acupuncture therapy can effectively improve endometrial thickness and increase clinical pregnancy rate.
