Non-invasive ventilation for acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Abstract：After more than 30 years of development,non-invasive ventilation(NIV)has achieved good results in the treatment of acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).NIV has become the first-line mechanical ventilation treatment for acute exacerbation of COPD.For the patients who have already undergone invasive ventilation with endotracheal intubation,NIV can effectively assist in the safe withdrawal of invasive ventilation.In the future,further research is needed on how to effectively connect NIV between hospitalization and home treatment.
