Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of bacterial lysates on treatment of childhood allergic rhinitis and the regulating effect of the bacterial lysates on serum interferon-γ(IFN-γ)and interleukin-4(IL-4)levels.Methods Sixty pediatric patients with allergic rhinitis who were admitted to Department of Otolaryngology,Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical University from January 2023 to January 2024 were recruited and divided into observation group and control group by using random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with mometasone furoate combined with montelukast sodium, and the observation group was treated with bacterial lysates on the basis of the treatment regimen of the control group. Both groups were treated continuously for 3 months.Serum IFN-γ,IL-4 and immunoglobulin E(IgE)levels, and symptom and sign scores were compared between the two groups before and after treatment, and clinical efficacy and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results Before treatment, there were no significant differences in serum IFN-γ,IL-4 and IgE levels between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment, serum INF-γ levels in both groups were significantly increased compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),while serum IL-4 and IgE levels in both groups were significantly decreased compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the level changes in the observation group were more significant than those in the control group(P<0.05).Before treatment, there were no significant differences in the symptom scores of runny nose, nasal congestion, nasal itching and sneezing, and the sign scores of nasal mucosal swelling and inferior turbinate edema between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment, the scores of various symptoms and signs in both groups decreased compared with those before treatment, and the scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(96.67%vs 73.33%;x2=4.706,P=0.030).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(20.00%vs 23.33%;x2=0.098,P=0.754).Conclusion Bacterial lysates are helpful for improving the clinical treatment effect of childhood allergic rhinitis, increasing serum INF-γ level, reducing serum IL-4 and IgE levels and improving clinical symptoms, and have a good safety.
