Research progress on the role of vitamin D in the pathogenesis and clinical treatment of migraine

Abstract:Migraine is a common chronic neurological disorder characterized by moderate to severe headache episodes accompanied by reversible nerve injury and systemic symptoms.Studies have confirmed that multiple mechanisms are involved in the onset of migraine.Vitamin D,as a steroid hormone,plays an important role in various life activities of the human body.Vitamin D deficiency is associated with migraine,and vitamin D has been used as a therapeutic agent in clinical trials for migraine.In this paper,the research progress on the role of vitamin D in the pathogenesis and clinical treatment of migraine is reviewed.
