Abstract:Ribonucleic acid(RNA)splicing dysregulation is one of the important molecular pathological fea-tures of tumors, and RNA splicing dysregulation is closely related to abnormal expression of splicing factors.Polypyri-midine tract binding protein 1(PTBP1),a kind of RNA binding protein,is one of the members of the splicing factor heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins(hnRNPs)family, and is involved in the occurrence and progression of various tumors through regulation of proliferation, migration, invasion, autophagy, apoptosis, immune surveillance and meta-bolic reprogramming, and is a potential clinical application target for digestive tract tumors.PTBP1,as a key splicing factor, regulates the splicing of target gene precursor messenger RNA(mRNA)and the stability of mRNA,and its novel molecular mechanism for regulating alternative splicing has also been further elucidated in digestive tract tumors. In this paper, the research progress on the role of splicing factor PTBP1 in digestive tract tumors is reviewed.
