Abstract:The pathophysiological mechanisms of inflammatory diseases involve epigenetic regulation. The post-translational modification of histones is an important component of epigenetics, and the lactylated histones derived from lactic acid is a novel post-translational modification of histones discovered in recent years.Immune cells, including macrophages, play an important role in the repair of tissue damage in inflammatory diseases.Histone lactylation mod-ification,as an epigenetic modification, mediates the expression regulation of immune cell repair genes, glycolytic genes, and programmed cell death, thereby participating in the regulation of tissue damage repair in inflammatory diseases. In this paper, the research progress on the involvement of histone lactylation in regulating tissue damage repair in inflam-matory diseases is reviewed.
