MRI diagnosis of cavernous hemangiomas in cavernous sinus
Abstract:Objective To investigate the imaging features of cavernous hemangiomas in cavernous sinus, and to analyze the value of magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) in diagnosis of cavernous hemangiomas in cavernous sinus. Methods MRI findings of 12 patients with cavernous hemangiomas in cavernous sinus who were operated on in our hospital from January 2009 to January 2017 were analyzed retrospectively. Results In the 12 cases,TIWI showed equal and slightly low signal, and T2WI showed high signal. The results of enhanced scan showed obvious enhancement, lesions in dumbbell shape with clear boundary, internal carotid artery wrapped, adjacent brain tissue compression, and no edema signals. Conclusion MRI plays an important role in the diagnosis of cavernous hemangiomas in the cavernous sinus.
