Abstract:Objective To study the prediction and clinical significance of radiosensitivity gene of miR-93-5p in rectal cancer. Methods The data of rectal cancer treated by radiotherapy were collected from the GEO database. Limma. R package software was used to calculate the differentially expressed genes to obtain the first gene set. The target gene of miR-93-5p in multiple micro-RNA target gene prediction database was used to predict and obtain the additional gene set. Plastin 1(PLS1) gene is achieved by intersecting two gene sets. Then survival analysis and gene set enrichment analysis of the expression level of PLS1 were performed to explore the clinical significance of molecular mechanisms of PLS1. Results The total survival time of the patients with higher-level expression of PLS1 was obviously shorter than that of the patients with low-expression PLS1 gene(P = 0. 01). Conclusion Higher-level expression of PLS1 gene is a bad prognostic factor for rectal cancer and can be used as an effective biomarker to predict the prognosis of the patients.
