Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical effect of vertebral arch bone grounding on the treatment of tho-racolumbar spine burst fracture. Methods Forty-five patients with thoracolumbar spine burst fractures admitted to Foshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from May 2013 to May 2014 were randomly divided into the observa-tion group(n=23) and the control group(n=22).The patients in the control group only underwent vertebral posteri-or screw rod fixation.Patients in the observation group underwent transpedicular bone grafting based on that applied on patients in the control group, vertebral injury segment Cobb angle, incidence of fixed complications, visual ana-logue scale(VAS), Chinese version of oswestry disability index(CODI) evaluation, fracture healing state and the height of vertebral body compression rate were compared between the two groups three months after the operation.Re-sults Vertebral injury segment Cobb angle, vertebral body height compression ratio, visual analogue scale( VAS) and CODI evaluation in the observation group were significantly lower than those of patients in the control group three months after the operation(P<0.05); The fracture healing rate of the patients in the observation group(82.60%) was significantly higher than that of the patients in the control group(54.55%)(P<0.05).The incidence of internal fixation complication was 8.70%in the observation group, and 9.10%in the control group( P>0.05) .Conclusion Vertebral arch bone grounding is a safe and effective method for the treatment of thoracolumbar spine burst fracture.
