The efficacy and safety of compound azintamide plus gastric motor drug in treatment of the elderly with functional dyspepsia

Abstract：Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of compound azintamide plus gastric motor drug in the treatment of the elderly with functional dyspepsia(FD).Methods Ninety-two elderly patients with FD were ran-domly divided into two groups.The observation group(n =47) was treated with compound azintamide and itopride hydrochloride tablets and the control group(n =45) was treated with itopride hydrochloride tablets.The efficacy and safety in the two groups were evaluated.Results The extent of abdominal distention, indisposition after meals and poor appetite improvement was more significant in the observation group than that in the control group after 2 and 4 weeks of the treatment(P <0.05).The total effective rates after 2 and 4 weeks of the treatment in the observation group were 68.1% and 89.4%, which were significantly higher than those in the control group(46.7% and 66.7%) (P <0.05).There were no obvious adverse reactions in the two groups during the period of the treatment.Conclu-sion Compound azintamide plus itopride hydrochloride tablets is safe and effective in the treatment of elderly pa-tients with FD.
