Comparative study of single-port laparoscopic and conventional laparoscopic total hysterectomy
Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical value of single-port laparoscopic total hysterectomy( LESS-TH).Methods One hundred and twenty cases with non-gynaecological malignant diseases were randomly divided in-to the experimental group(n =60) and the control group(n =60).The experimental group received single-port LESS-TH and the control group received traditional LESS-TH.The operation time, the bleeding volume, the hospitalization time, the postoperative morbidity, the postoperative anal exhaust time and the patients′satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results There were no significant differences in the time of surgery, intraoperative hemor-rhage volume and the hospitalization time between the two groups(P >0.05).The postoperative pain score, the post-operative anal exhaust time and the patients′satisfaction were significantly improved in the experimental group than those in the control group(P <0.05).The operation was successful in both of the two groups without postoperative complications, dead cases or failed cases. Conclusion Laparoendoscopic single-port surgery is a safe and feasible operation mode for hysterectomy, with a reduction of postoperative pain, faster recovery, and a better cosmetic result.
