The clinical efficacy of endoscopic transsphenoidal reoperation for recurrent pituitary tumor
Abstract：Objective To investigate the effectiveness and safety of the endoscopic transnasal transsphenoi-dal method and endoscopic transsphenoidal surgery for the treatment of craniotomy or microscopic tumor with relapsed after resection of pituitary.Methods Two hundred and forty-five patients with pituitary tumor recurrence were col-lected from March 2008 to February 2014,who were performed by transsphenoidal or craniotomy for the first opera-tion.All the patients were included in this study and were given secondary endoscopic transsphenoidal surgery.Tumor resection extent,endocrine changes in visual acuity and complications were analyzed.Results The surgery subtotal resection rate was 80.38%,without dead cases and serious complications.Conclusion Endoscopic transsphenoidal resection of pituitary tumors is safe and effective.
