Clinical observation of the effect of hyperbaric oxygen on the wound healing after diabetic foot amputation ;surgery
Abstract:Objective To evaluate the effect of hyperbaric oxygen on the wound healing after diabetic foot amputation surgery. Methods Sixty patients receiving diabetic foot amputation surgery were divided into group A and group B by using the random number table, with 30 cases in each group.Conventional treatments were done in group A, including blood glucose control, wound dressing, infection control, etc.The same treatments plus hyperbaric oxy-gen therapy were done in group B for 1 week. The wound healing situation, complications and blood glucose control were compared between the two groups. Results The basic situation of preoperation in the two groups had no signifi-cant difference(P>0.05).The levels of amputation in the two groups had no significant difference(P>0.05).The wound healing of group B was better than that of group A(P<0.05) and the incidence of complications in group A was higher than that in group B(P<0.05).The control of blood glucose in group B is better than that in group A(P<0.01).Conclusion Hyperbaric oxygen treatment is helpful for the healing of diabetic foot amputation surgery wound. It reduces complications and helps to control blood glucose.
