Effect of methylprednisolone on the levels of TNF-αand IL-17 in mice with experimental autoimm une en-ce phalomyelitis
Abstract:Objective To explore the effects of methylprednisolone on the levels of TNF-αand IL-17 in the central nervous system of mice with experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis ( EAE ) .Methods 30 female C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into 3 groups: methylprednisolone-treated group, EAE group and normal group. The EAE model was induced by immunizing mice with myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein peptides ( MOG35-55).The brain tissues were collected and their expressions of TNF-αand IL-17 were detected using Western Blot . Results The neurological deficits of the methylprednisolone-treated mice were lighter than those of the EAE mice ( P<0.05 ) , while the methylprednisolone-treated mice displayed the lower expressions of TNF-αand IL-17 than the EAE mice did(P<0.05).Conclusion Methylprednisolone can protect against EAE in mice by the inhibition of TNF-αand IL-17 .
