The clinical effect of salmeterol fluticasone on the treatment of bronchiectasis with limited airflow

Abstract：Objective To observe the curative effect of salmeterol fluticasone on patients with bronchiectasis and limited airflow.Methods 51 patients with bronchiectasis and limited airflow were randomly divided into treat-ment group(n=26) and control group(n=25).The two groups were treated with conventional treatment and the treatment group inhaled additional long-term salmeterol fluticasone regularly.Their clinical symptoms, pulmonary functions and sputum neutrophil percentages were observed and measured before and 4 months after the treatment.Re-sults The clinical symptoms, pulmonary functions and sputum neutrophil percentages had no significant differences between the two groups before the treatment(P>0.05).The clinical symptoms and the pulmonary function were im-proved significantly in the treatment group after the treatment, and the sputum neutrophil percentage was decreased obviously while there was no obvious change in the control group.Conclusion Salmeterol fluticasone can improve the clinical symptoms and lung function, reduce the sputum neutrophil percentage in patients with bronchiectasis and lim-ited airflow.
