Laparoscopic high sac ligation for childre n′s indirect inguinal hernia by trans-umbilical single port methods:report of 58 cases
Abstract:Objective To study the clinical value of trans-umbilical single port laparoscopic high sac ligation for indirect inguinal hernia in children .Methods Retrospective analysis was performed on clinical data of 58 chil-dren received trans-umbilical single port laparoscopic high sac ligation for indirect inguinal hernia .Rseults The op-eration was successfully completed in all of the cases .No conversion to laparotomy was required in all cases .No vis-ceral injury or injury of vas deferens and spermatic vessels were observed .They were followed up for 2~15months, during which no recurrence , testicular atrophy and iatrogenic cryptochidism were found .Conclusion The trans-um-bilical single port laparoscopic high sac ligation is a safe , effective, convenient and minimal procedure for the treatment of indirect inguinal hernia in children .The operation procedure is more complicated and needs more skillful specialists .
