The clinical and pathological significance about expression of P21WAF1 in human gastrointestinal stromal ;tumors

Abstract：Objective To investigate the expression of P21WAF1 in human gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST).Methods Fifty cases of GIST were evaluated for P21WAF1 protein expression by immunohistochemical meth-od.Results The positive expression level of P21WAF1 was 48.0%in human GIST,which was lower than in the adja-cent tissues(76.2%).Conclusion P21WAF1 is related to GIST, and can be used as a supplemental index of CD 117. It is helpful for the diagnosis of GIST .
