Clinical analysis on modification of lateral approach for primary hip arthroplasty

Abstract:Objective To explore the method and effect of primary hip arthroplasty through modified lateral approach.Methods The clinical data was retrospectively analyzed on 68 patients who received primary hip arthro-plasty through modified lateral approach.Results These cases were followed with an average follow-up 3 years after operation.The average Hart′s hip score after operation showed 61 cases were excellent, 5 cases were good,2 cases were medium, the excellent and good rate was 97.1%.No complication such as dislocation,infection happened.Con-clusion Primary hip arthroplasty through modified lateral approach has advantages of small trauma, less bleeding, rapid recovery,fewer complication,etc.
