Effect of vitrification on cleavage stage embryos using two groups of cryoprotectants
Abstract:Objective To evaluate the effects of two groups of cryoprotectants on cleavage stage embryos . Methods A total of 102 discarded embryos on day 3 after fertilizaion from IVF/ICSI-ET cycles were randomly allo-cated to group of ethylene glycol +propanediol(EG+PROH) (52 embryos)and group of ethylene glycol +dimethyl sulphoxide(EG+DMSO)(50 embryos). After warming, the survivals efficient of embryos between the two groups were compared. Results After warming, the two groups had a similar survival rate , but the intact survival rate and blastomere survival rate of cleavage stage embryos in the EG +PROH group was significantly higher than those in the EG+DMSO group(P<0.05).Conclusion For the vitrification of cleavage stage embryos , using EG+PROH as a cryoprotectant can achieve good results .
