Clinical experience of prepertoneal tension-free hernioplasty for inguinal hernia

Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical value of prepertoneal tension-free hernioplasty with EasyPros-thesis Mesh to repair inguinal hernia .Methods The date of 168 patients with inguinal hernia treated by prepertoneal tension-free hernioplasty with EasyProsthesis Mesh were reviewed and analyzed .The patients gender , age,operative technique,operative time,postoperative complications and rate of recurrence were observed .Results All cases were healed and discharged from hospital .The operative time was 35~90 minutes.The average time when the patients can walk on foot out of hospital bed after opration was 6~12 hours.No cases had the chronic pain and foreign body sen-sation after opration .Postoperative complications:there were 32 cases of urinary retention;3 cases of scrotal edema;2 cases of scrotal hematoma;1 case of incision infection .No recurrence was found in 62 patients in follow up of 6~18 months.Conclusion Prepertoneal tension-free hernioplasty with EasyProsthesis Mesh to repair inguinal hernia is a safe and feasible effective surgical technique ,and be worth to popularize .
